GÜNTER BUTSCHEK BECOMES NEW CEO AT MOOVE

Known as a pioneer and designer, Günter Butschek will take up the challenges in the growth market of electric light commercial vehicles at MOOVE GmbH. The focus will initially be on the "Go Live" of the start-up in 2023 - from the development of the pre-series to series production, from the involvement of customers during development to delivery for real operation. In addition his focus will be the further strategic development of the product portfolio, business model and future partnerships, in accordance with the vision of a holistic ecosystems for sustainable last mile mobility solutions for freight and passenger transport with the declared goal of being a pioneer for autonomous driving.

The business administration graduate began his career in the 1980s at Mercedes-Benz. Various functional management positions were followed by stays abroad in various regions from 2000, like in charge of the Mercedes-Benz joint venture Beijing-Benz Automotive. After his role as Global Chief Operating Officer Airbus, Butschek was responsible for the Tata Motors' business in India and on the international markets of the Tata Motors brand. In addition to a successful turnaround/transformation process, the focus was on future orientation in terms of technologies, business models and partnerships.

On April 1st, the former CEO & MD of Tata Motors and previously Chief Operating Officer of Airbus, Günter Butschek, will start as the new CEO at MOOVE GmbH in Aachen.

ABOUT MOOVE
With two environmentally friendly electric commercial vehicle variants, MOOVE GmbH from Aachen wants to meet the requirements for low-emission transport of goods and people in a sustainable, efficient and effective manner. The fully electric transporter CargoMover with its loading space variants of 11m³ and 20m³ is designed as a sustainable last-mile delivery solution for the courier and logistics market. The PeopleMover minibus, which is also fully electric, can comfortably accommodate up to 19 people – and its floor space is only that of a large sedan. Both variants are also projected as automated and autonomously driving vehicles.
MOOVE GmbH was founded in 2018 on the RWTH Aachen Campus by Prof. Günther Schuh and his team as a joint venture between e.GO Mobile AG and Zukunft Ventures, a subsidiary of ZF Friedrichshafen AG. At the beginning of 2021, Miltenyi Biotec B.V. & Co. KG with it's headquarters in Bergisch Gladbach purchased the shares from ZF, shortly afterwards the ND Group acquired the shares of e.GO Mobile AG. From there, the mission continued as an independent company: e.GO MOOVE GmbH became MOOVE GmbH in October 2021.
In December 2021, MOOVE GmbH successfully completed a financing round in the double-digit million range. Involved were Andrew Wolff (entrepreneur and investor from London who previously worked at Goldman Sachs as Global Co-Head and Head of International Merchant Banking Division) and Jan Petzel, founder of Eldon Capital and previously Managing Director at the Merchant Banking Division of Goldman Sachs.
